Music concert

On Thursday afternoon the whole school did a song a dance or playing a musical instrument. Our class play the glockinsplies they're like zila phone. We played little iza Jane. I was nevuors because I thought I was bad but I was good. Here's the video of us playing.

Little garden

Last term new world gave our class some little gardens. We planted them and found out they forgot To give us dill oh well. The one that I planted was lettuce. We ate some of Alessandra's and Eva's radishes. It was tasty but spicy. Here is a photo of the radishes.

Athletes day

yorn. I woke up and I shouted  woho today is Athletes. Mum shoted back" be quite we,re all trying to sleep. I packed my bag and went to school. I walked into class just as I heard a ringggg. Oh I forgot to tell you I'm in blue house.  Put my bag away and sat on the Mat. Eileen called the roll. We finished and lined up. Off we go. Me and Liam were thinking of calls for our house. I and Liam played paper scissors rock I won mostly all the games. We got to massy and we walked to the track. I got in my house and started the first activitie It was long jump with Fiona I got the first jump. I 5th and I 1st 2st and 3rd two times. The next activitie was long distance running with David.  it was hard but I got there. Then high jump with Stehpen. High jump is not one of my favourites but I did really good. I can't really remember the rest but my last activitie was vortex I did good. Athletes was Really fun this   Year.

Maket day

Tomorrow is Market day! Our products are Wooden flat packs. Rain deer candy canes and Popsicle stick Christmas trees. We Voted and we put the votes in a container and that's how we came up with the decorations. My favourite part of market day was painting the wooden flat packs. I would make some kind of body wash like face wash. I think market day will be a sucess for us and we will get a lot of money. We  made $144.10 dollars. It worked out really well for us . By Cole

Every monday we do Te Reo with flourish. It was hard because I had to learn the words but it got easy. I enjoyed how we played Te Reo bingo. It was fun because my team always got the right numbers. Lucas grows down

A few weeks ago are class did a movie it's call Lucas grows we coped it from a book but the book was called otto grows down but we called it Lucas grows down. I was Lucas the 8 year old. We enter it to the dige awards.
My reflection it was cool because the movie is so awesone and funny and that I got to be one of the main character

flat pack

 Design Brief
We want a decorative model that can be put on top of the shelves by the windows. The model needs to be:

• Made from cardboard
• A flat pack design
• Good enough to go in a shop

We had a go at following instructions to make a flat pack Christmas Tree. We used this concept to help us to create our own flat pack using the design process.

As part of the design process we created prototypes and reflected on what worked and what didn't.

Eat right be bright

Today we went to watch a magic show called "Eat Right & Be Bright". Vas Kovalski was the Magician.

He taught us about the importance of eating healthy. Everyday we need to eat:

• Fruit 
• Vegetables
• Grains
• Protein
• Dairy

If we eat well we will get all of the vitamins and minerals we need to be strong and healthy.

Lollie cake recipe

Make Lolly Cake using this recipe. Be sure to measure your ingredients carefully!

Lolly Cake

Ingredients:

120 g butter
250 g malt biscuit crumbs
180 g fruit puffs
1/2 tin condensed milk
coconut – for coating

Method:

1. Warm butter and condensed milk together in the microwave.
2. Add biscuit crumbs and fruit puffs.
3. Stir well.
4. Roll into one log or small balls. Coat in coconut.

Holiday Story

Brm Brm.One day in the holidays Oile came over you know why? Because we were going to Daytona!!! I was so excited I forgot what was happening. I screamed "Yesssssss Mum said "carm down you will wake the lady nextdoor." Sorry mum I said. We picked Oile up and off we went. Here we were I had my helmet on sitting in the go cart  3 2 1 GO GO GO!!! I went as fast as I could. I took the lead but Oile past me. He was like a cheetah doing animal run. I said in my head " know one pasts me" And I zoomed past him I shouted "seeeea. Oile whispered "what ever. when I was going to the finish line I was leading Oile court up and his wheel hit my wheel and I skidded over the finish line AND I WON!!! It was very fun in the end we went and took our helmets off. We jumped in to the dropped Oile home I scurried home to eat my tea and hop into bed.

On Monday we do Te Reo with R7 we made our own Te Reo movies.

This is our Te Reo movie we made. We were learning about verbs and writing simple sentences. I think we did a good job. We are getting better at speaking Te Reo because we are practising a lot.

This year I doing Dance NZ Made with Dean. I was scared at first because I didn't know if my friends were doing it. Turns out nearly all my friends were doing it. It is really really fun. Here is a video of it.

The Creation of the Moon

long long long ago there were 2 boys. There names were josh and Henry. They were sick and tired of the sky all black. Josh and Henry started to arucue about the sky. Cole the God of good came and said " Stop arucueing." And he threw them up to the sky. They became the moon. They felt sad watching everybody else have fun and they said sorry to each other.

Water day

It was Thursday! Water day we all got in our togs. Joy and Brenda epsilon the rules. of we go. i was with joy in the pool. we were learning to save are self. the pool was very warm. joy said if a helicopter came to save us what would you do. lots of people said make a circle so we did it was very hard but we did it. there gos the bell. i said to Henry ''this is very fun Henry replied '' yes it is '' Are next active was tin foell boats. we got to put beans in tin foell and make it float. it was very fun me and Henry broke a record it was 150 the old one was 139. next active was water fight. the teams were me Henry and Chris v Eric Max and Amber. I got my water gun ready 3 2 1 go. Very quickly I shot.  Water came out slash! I was running and crawling to there buis. The bell went next the last active slip and side. we had to make it. we had made it. I went first. I run up and slide water came over top of me it would be cool in slow mode. all the other went. i had one last turn and i slid like a whale. the bell rung back to class getting jerst and go home.

Active Listening

We are learning about different types of listening. There are 3 main types of listening that we learnt about. Busy Listening - When the person listening is busy doing something. They are too busy to concentrate on what is being said. Me Too Listening - When the person listening has a story that they feel is more important than the person talking so they interrupt and share their story instead of listening. Active Listening - When the person listening looks at the person talking, concentrates, gives non-verbal feedback (e.g. nodding) and asks questions about the story. To learn about the different types of listening, we watched this video:

After practising each type of listening, we realised…

• Busy listening makes us feel like you’re not listening to us. We found it really hard to keep talking. 
• Me too listening makes us feel frustrated and sad that you think your story is more important. 
• Active listening makes us feel valued. We know you are listening because you are looking, nodding, asking questions. 

 As a class we are all trying to get better at being active listeners.

The day was here it was swimming sport! I came to school all geared up. The bell rung I was so neviours I nearly peed my pants. We jumped on the bus I scurried to the back. Here we go I was pumped when we got off the bus. We walk into the lido I staned in my house my house was kerurea. I waiting for the wiht races to start. Wihts have started it was the year six grils frist. I waved at my grandad he waved back. The wihts where over it was the lengths now. I heard cam say it the big stuff is starting I repled I'm in it. It was time it was the year 3/4 freestyle I line up in the second line. I saw Henry swam like a dolphin. It was my turn I got in the water David said go I swam as fast as I could and I fished I did the same of backstack. My goal next year is to do all the lengths. I went back home on the bus and that is the end. Cole

Van Gogh Sun Flowers

We are learning to paint like Van Gogh. We have read lots of books and watched some tutorials. We've experimented with painting our portraits and now we have had a go at painting sunflowers. Our paintings needs to have short brush strokes bright colours positive & negative images (Main object with a complementing background)

We watched this video before starting to help us with our painting. I am proud… i was proud because i finial learnt to do little stokes The most challenging part was… doing the stokes If I were to do it again I would... make the petals
